As a result of the accident, the 47-year-old driver of the Volkswagen died on the spot. The 36-year-old Lexus driver and her 9-year-old passenger, who at the time of the accident was sitting in the back without a child restraint, the 52-year-old Renault driver and two of his passengers, as well as the 49-year-old Volkswagen passenger, were injured.
